Camp Joy!

Camp Joy is a Free Summer Camp for children who have finished the 1st-5th grade.

The mission of Camp JOY is multi-part:

1. To show campers the love, joy and grace, given to us all through a relationship with Jesus.

2. Teach campers how to build strong, positive relationships with others.

3. To teach campers the value of unselfishness and the necessity of developing a Godly character and a closer walk with God.

I count it a great privilege and honor to serve Christ at Camp Joy each year.  From its impact, I’ve been able to grow from a shy high school graduate to a confident leader in ministry.  All the while, serving along side fellow believers and dear friends whose love and affection for the kids is nothing but contagious and a tremendous blessing.
Camp Joy means family.  The amount of people you can get so close with and get close to Christ is amazing.  It’s something I will always cherish.
Camp Joy will forever hold a special place in my heart because that’s where I was saved as a camper.  It’s a blessing to experience it as a counselor and to be able to share the gospel with the little kids.  It gives me great joy to love those children as God loves us.  Camp Joy is Psalms 34:8 lived out, “Oh taste and see that the Lord is good blessed is the man that trusts in Him.”
Camp Joy means Joy and Love to me. Because I get to see my friends and meet new people.  My favorite thing to do at camp is group time and game time.
Camp Joy is everything! I love learning and talking about God.  I also love being outdoors doing paintball and fishing. The fishing was fun even though I didn’t catch a fish.  The science experiments are great, especially the one where we dipped the paper towel in colored water and then the water changed colors.
I had a blast at Camp Joy! I loved my leaders, singing and dancing for Jesus, and most of all it was so special because I Got SAVED!  I will forever remember that day.
Camp Joy will always hold a special place in my heart.  To be able to witness God moving in the kid’s hearts and see a love for Jesus develop in their own lives is absolutely amazing.  Not only does God work in the kid’s hearts, but He also teaches us as counselors and helps us grow in Him as well.
To me Camp Joy means more than just a weeklong summer camp.  It means growing in my personal relationship with God and helping others develop and strengthen their relationship with the Lord.  Camp Joy means so much to me and so many other teenagers in this community.  It has impacted my life in so many ways already by teaching me how to vocalize my faith; and I know that it will continue to change the lives and hearts of so many others.
Being a counselor at Camp Joy is one of the most fruitful experiences I have ever encountered as a follower of Christ.  Although the mission of Camp Joy is to reach children with the hope of the gospel, each year that I have counseled, I have left with a strengthened heart to serve Christ more fervently.

Camp Joy has always been a blessing to me.  From being a counselor since a young age, serving at this camp has allowed me to truly see what it looks like to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  Getting to love these children like Jesus does and give Him all the Glory has had a huge impact on my life.

Some of my favorite things at Camp Joy are the music, songs and making new friends.
I love Camp Joy because I get to make new friends and we take cool adventures.  Also, the songs are fun and so are the games.  Everyone is always nice too!  Also, last but not lease you get to learn about God!!!
